Have Fun, Clean Up the Fox at ‘It’s Our River Day’ Sept. 16 in Algonquin
The 10th anniversary celebration of the “It’s Our River Day” is set for Sept. 16 at Cornish Park in Algonquin.
“Bring your family, friends and co-workers for a wonderful afternoon celebrating the Fox River,” organizers said in a news release.
The event will include a keynote speaker, a river clean-up, and a celebration with music. The event is free to attend.
The keynote address will come from Jeff Mengler, president of the Fox River Ecosystem Partnership and Senior Scientist for Hey and Associates. The Sierra Club will sponsor the river clean-up and provide gloves.
Music will be provided by Thea Roggenbuck. The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County and the Algonquin Lake in the Hills Food Pantry will have tables with information.
