When Charles Dickens uttered the above quote, we all know there was no way he could have met Gabby, KCAC’s 7-month-old gray domestic medium-haired cat, especially since he lived more than two centuries ago.
It’s unfortunate because, surely, if time travel were available to us, Mr. Dickens would most likely credit his comment to the cuddly Ms. Gabby. She is such a talkative little feline, especially when she’s asking for attention. When she finally gets her way, she will melt into the arms of whoever is petting her.
She coexists with other cats as long as they stay away from her personal space, but she probably would prefer to set up her forever home as an only cat.
Gabby is ready, willing and able to share her gift of love with her new forever family members.
KCAC ‘Pup’-Dates
Bambi
A big congratulations to Bambi, our sweet 4-month-old Chihuahua-terrier mix. Bambi found his forever home, but definitely left his legacy at Kane County Animal Control with his photos from Facebook. Don’t give up your modeling career, Bambi!
Vinnie
Vinnie, our happy-go-lucky “city-fied” 8-year-old Labrador retriever is now living the farm life with his new forever family. Our best wishes and happy thoughts go out to him and his expanded family.
Trixie
It took a couple of times, but Trixie with the golden eyes was finally adopted by her forever family. An owner surrender, she had lived at Kane County since early Spring. Congratulations, Trixie!
Bailey, the poster-worthy sweetheart for the German Shepherd breed, has moved in with her forever family. Bailey, your future is even brighter than before. Congratulations!
How to Adopt
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The usual adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150.

About Kane County Animal Control
It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:
Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.- Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
- Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
- Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate complaints of neglected and\or abused dogs.
