The Kane Excellence in Education Partnership and Kane County Teacher’s Credit Union have chosen Batavia High School graduate Heaven McCoy to receive the $1,000 Kane Excellence in Education Partnership Youth Scholarship.

McCoy was awarded the scholarship on Oct. 1 by Kane County Regional Superintendent of Schools Patricia Dal Santo and KCTCU President Michael Lee. McCoy will be pursuing a college degree in psychology.

“Heaven’s perseverance and drive to pursue higher education is inspiring to us all and is what led us to award her this scholarship,” Dal Santo said. “We are excited to see Heaven pursue a degree in psychology and can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.”

Lee said KCTCU is committed to the communities it serves.

“Partnering closely with the school districts in Kane County is one of the ways we give back,” Lee said. “Our relationship with KEEP is a tangible way to support our motto: ‘Building Stronger Communities Together.’ ”
