Halloween weather in Kane County this year is going to be pretty darned cold.

No rain is in the forecast, and that’s probably the No. 1 concern for trick-or-treaters and their parents. But there is a chance that Halloween 2017 will be among the top 10 coolest in 145 years.

According to the National Weather Service Chicago, the daytime forecast for Kane County is partly sunny, with a high near 40, with gusts as high as 20 mph. The nighttime forecast is mostly cloudy, with a low around 28 and south wind around 5 mph.

The normal high and low temps for the Chicago area are 56 and 39 degrees, respectively.

The warmest Halloween recorded in 145 years is 84 degrees in 1950. The coldest ever was 23 degrees in 1873. It rains just about half the time.
