Left-Turn Lane Improvements Coming To Red Gate Road in St. Charles
If you thought roadwork season was over in October, think again. The intersection improvements just seem to keep on coming.
Starting the week of Oct. 9, construction will begin on Red Gate Road between Randall Road and Longview Drive in the city of St. Charles, in order to safely and efficiently widen the road. The anticipated duration for the project is six to eight weeks, weather permitting. Red Gate Road will remain open during this work, but will require temporary intermittent daily lane closures throughout the duration of the project, that would reduce Red Gate Road down to one lane.
The improvements will include:
- Hot mix asphalt resurfacing and widening to construct a left-turn lane.
- Culvert improvement.
- Pavement marking.
- Tree removal and landscape restoration.
All bicyclists and pedestrians are advised to avoid using the area during construction for the safety of both the workers and the residents.
