6 Kane County Workplaces Among Best in Chicago Area
Six Kane County workplaces have been named among the best in the Chicago area.
The six workplaces — Aldi and the Batava Park District in Batavia, Rush-Copley Medical Center and First Centennial Mortgage Corporation in Aurora, FONA International in Geneva and LSI (Lending Solutions) in Elgin — were awarded a 2017 Top Workplaces honor by The Chicago Tribune, based on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by Energage, LLC. This is a huge achievement considering how many people are unhappy due to their experiences in the workplace. There are a number of law firms in lincoln ne and elsewhere who specialize in cases brought to them by employees.
The awards are organized by size category, assessing everything from work-life balance to confidence in company leadership, and are based solely on employee opinions.
“The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest,” says Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “To be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day — the employees? Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together.”
In the category of large workplaces, with 1,000 or more employees, Aldi corporate headquarters in Batavia was ranked No. 11. The retail grocery company has 24,875 U.S. employees and 3,796 regional employees.
“ALDI’s commitment to quality begins with our people,” the company says on its website.
Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora has been around since 1886, believe it or not, and has 1,887 employees. Rush Copley is a member of Rush, an academic health system, and a leading provider of health services to the greater Fox Valley area.
The real estate company Baird & Warner, based in Chicago, was the No. 1 large workplace in the survey.
In the category of small workplaces, with 249 or fewer employees, FONA International of Geneva was No. 8. FONA is a perennial winner of best workplace awards, including Fortune Magazine’s nationwide ranking of 44th best workplace for women. FONA has 210 employees overall and 159 in the region.
First Centennial Mortgage Corp. of Aurora was ranked 11th in the Tribune’s small-workplace category. The company has 214 employees overall and 153 in the region.
“As a family-owned company, we promote a positive, uplifting and harmonious work environment,” the company says on its website.
The Batavia Park District made the list for the second year in a row. The Park District employs 131 people.
“This award is a clear reflection of the talent of our people and the extent to which they collaborate in order to provide a high level of value to our constituents,” Park District Executive Director Allison Niemela said. “Being a local governmental entity, this is not an easy feat. Our efforts at recognizing the importance of achieving a positive work/life balance and the establishment of a strong internal culture provide the cornerstone for maintaining a creative and energetic workplace environment.”
The No. 1 small workplace was Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, based in Schaumburg.
LSI (Lending Solutions) of Elgin received an honorable mention in the category of “companies of various sizes.” The company has 631 regional employees.
