Cougars To Be Featured on Travel Channel’s Food Paradise Nov. 26
The Kane County Cougars, minor league affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, will be featured on the upcoming Minor League Baseball (MiLB) themed episode of “Food Paradise”, debuting on the Travel Channel at 8 p.m. CT on Sunday, Nov. 26.
“Food Paradise” researched several MiLB teams around the country that provide a one-of-a-kind dining experience for their fans. Selected from more than 160 teams, the show will highlight the Cougars and feature items from Northwestern Medicine Field’s menu. O’Malley Productions visited the ballpark in August to learn what goes into the making of the items that will be featured on the show. Once the cooking process was complete, fans in attendance at the game had the chance to sample the items and let the world know why the Cougars are one of the top ballpark food destinations in the country.
Over the past few seasons, the Cougars have put themselves on the MiLB food map with signature creations including the popular Heart Attack Burger, which saw the team cover a half pound patty with a fried egg, chipotle bacon mayo, two slices of bacon, grilled onions and cheddar cheese in between two grilled cheese sandwiches serving as the bun.
Most recently, the team debuted a spicy masterpiece known as the El Jefe, which included a jalapeño and Monterey Jack cheese infused burger patty, Ghost Pepper Jack Cheese, pork belly, chipotle mac and cheese, pork carnitas, jalapeño straws and a refreshing drizzle of honey mustard sauce.
In addition to their signature items, the Cougars have continued to offer the classics including giant Polish and Italian sausages as well as the fan favorite barbecue pork chop sandwich.
“We’re honored that the Travel Channel chose to feature the Kane County Cougars in this special Minor League Baseball episode,” said Vice President and General Manager, Curtis Haug. “Our signature items were extremely popular among our fans this season and we’re looking forward to showcasing our ballparks fantastic food offerings.”
The Minor League Baseball episode will rebroadcast at 11 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, as well as 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, and again at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17.
