Kane County Public Schools Celebrate American Education Week

Schools throughout Kane County are celebrating American Education Week in a variety of ways.

West Aurora School District 129 kicked off the week today (Monday, Nov. 13, 2017) with a “Principal For a Day” event, inviting civic leaders to take a tour of local schools and help spread the word about the good work that’s going on inside each school.

Although not necessarily associated with American Education Week, other school districts are holding a number of events this week. They include:

Geneva School District 304 is hosting the 2017 GenOvation Forum on Tuesday, Nov. 14, to learn about the District’s use of innovative practices and technologies in the classroom. The open house-style public forum will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. at Geneva High School (416 McKinley Ave., Geneva).

School District U-46 is hosting a STEM Expo Kick-Off on Tuesday, Nov. 14, and Wednesday, Nov. 15. Attendees will have a chance to “engage with cutting-edge technologies that will blow your mind, experiment with next-generation science and examine and check out live chemistry and physics demonstrations.”

From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. tonight (Monday, Nov. 13, 2017), School District 300 parents are invited to D300 Parent University’s “Worries of the Worldwide Web” at Westfield Community School, 2100 Sleepy Hollow Road, Algonquin, IL.
