Hear a bedtime story from your favorite judge and tour a courtroom Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the Kane County Law Library’s popular “Family Reading Night with the Judges.”

The event takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Kane County Law Library and Self Help Legal Center, located on the second floor of the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38 St. Charles.

Judges Alice Tracy, Divya Sarang and Sandra Parga share their favorite bedtime stories.

The event is for children in second grade or younger, and an adult must accompany children. Young visitors also can experience the excitement of touring a courtroom and sitting in a real judge’s chair. Kids will have a chance to enjoy snacks, laughter and stories, and adults can celebrate the importance of literacy and quality time spent reading with children.

The wearing of pajamas is encouraged.

Family Reading Night is an annual statewide event sponsored by the Illinois Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White and Illinois Center for the Book.

About the Kane County Law Library

Located within the Kane County Judicial Complex, the Kane County Law Library is open not only to attorneys and government employees, but to the public as well. Patrons may frequent the library Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or Wednesdays between 8:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Though mainly a reference library housing the county’s core of legal research materials, some publications may be checked out for up to a two week period. The library also offers the service of inter-library loaning items that are not within its own collection. A copier is available for public use for a minimal fee.
