New Multi-Way Stop Signals To Be Installed Dec. 4 at Harter Road and Scott Road

The Kane County Division of Transportation will post new signage and install a new overhead flashing beacon for a new multi-way stop at the intersection of Harter Road and Scott Road during the week of Dec. 4. The new multi-way stop is anticipated to be in place at about 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, weather permitting.

The new multi-way stop and overhead flashing beacon are being installed as a safety enhancement. In the days leading up to Dec.c 4, KDOT will use message boards to alert motorists of the coming change. Also, supplemental signage and warning flags will also be posted for the first several weeks to call special attention to the new configuration.

Motorists traveling on Harter Road should anticipate the need to stop at Scott Road and exercise caution when approaching the intersection, KDOT officials said.

Motorist need to be prepared to reduce their speed, exercise caution and be extra alert. Motorist must
watch for construction workers, construction vehicles entering or leaving the site, and obey flaggers and
other traffic control devices.
