24-Hour Snow Totals: Elburn Leads Kane With 2 Inches, More Snow Coming

True, we didn’t have a lot of snow in the past 24 hours, but we got enough for the National Weather Service Chicago to tally and report the totals.

In Kane County, Elburn led the league, reporting 2.0 inches in the 24-hour period ending at around 7 a.m. today (Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017). Elgin recorded 1.5 inches, and Batavia 1.1 inches.

The tops in the area was Gurnee, which collected a healthy 3.2 inches of snow.

The NWS Chicago reports that more snow is on the way. The forecast for Kane County, IL, for tomorrow (Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017) calls for a chance of snow before 9 a.m., then snow likely after noon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

New snow accumulation of less than a half inch is possible.
