Celebrate Kane County Students' Photography at ROE's Photo Exhibition Dec. 14

Celebrate Kane County Students’ Photography at ROE’s Photo Exhibition Dec. 14

Even though the days are getting shorter, don’t let the night keep you from venturing out and coming inside to see some of the best student photography from Kane County.

The fourth annual Kane County Student Photography Exhibition is set for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at Water Street Studios in Batavia. The exhibition will feature the best of the best high school student photography from the Kane County Regional Office of Education’s 10-week student photography contest of 2017.

On Thursday night, you’ll have the chance to see not only the stellar works from students at 13 area high schools, but the look on students’ faces when they receive awards from Regional Superintendent Patricia Dal Santo.

The evening includes music performed live by the Batavia High School Orchestra and delicious appetizers hand-crafted by Batavia High School’s Culinary Arts Department.

This year, the photo contest saw a total of 933 submissions from more than 330 students over the 10-week period! Submissions were from all nine Kane County school districts and several local private schools.

Narrowing down the submitted photos to a top 10 each week was always challenging because all of the photos were such high-quality works. In fact, we couldn’t stop ourselves from deciding to do a bonus week featuring 10 additional photos that haven’t been featured in the contest yet!

Consider this an early holiday gift from the ROE and a chance to showcase more of the outstanding photos that were submitted throughout the contest this year.
