Enjoy Winter Wildlife Hikes at LeRoy Oakes and Burnidge Forest Preserve
Explore the beauty of winter during “Winter Wildlife Hike” programs with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County.
Naturalists will lead the way as we look for signs of wintering wildlife. Attendees will learn about adaptations for surviving the cold, and the many kinds of animals that brave the Illinois winter.
Join naturalists for one or both hikes. The first winter hike will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, located at 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles.
The next hike will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Burnidge Forest Preserve, located at 38W235 Big Timber Road, Elgin.
All ages are welcome to these free, family-friendly hikes. Advance registration is required. Call 630-444-3190 or e-mail programs@kaneforest.com<
