KDOT December Update: LMP, Randall Road, And a Sneak Peek At 2018
We keep saying that the Kane County Division of Transportation construction updates should be about done for the season, but then comes more news and updates.
Here’s a quick look at what’s going on in December and what’s on the plate as 2018 nears.
Longmeadow Parkway (West of Randall Road to East of White Chapel Road)
All of the new concrete pavement and Hot Mix Asphalt binder course has been completed on Longmeadow Parkway and Randall Road for the Longmeadow Parkway from west of Randall Road to east of White Chapel Road project.
Striping
Surface and striping has been placed on Sleepy Hollow Road and the contractor is currently working on installing temporary traffic signals at Sleepy Hollow and Randall Roads.
KDOT anticipates Longmeadow Parkway roadway will be open to traffic from Huntley/Boyer Road to east of Randall Road and the temporary traffic signals running at Randall Road and at Sleepy Hollow Road by midday today (Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017).
Traffic Signals
Permanent traffic signals and crosswalks at Barrett and White Chapel are anticipated to be installed in early 2018, once all of the materials have been fabricated and shipped to the site. Remaining work for 2018 consists of surface course on Randall Road, completion of the retaining wall at Sleepy Hollow Road and landscaping.
