Longmeadow Parkway From Huntley/Boyer Road to White Chapel Lane Open to Traffic

Happy holidays, Kane County drivers!

The Kane County Division of Transportation announced Thursday (Dec. 21, 2017) that Longmeadow Parkway from Huntley/Boyer Road to White Chapel Lane is substantially complete and open to traffic, just in time for Christmas.

“The county appreciates your cooperation, patience and support which helped make this project a success,” KDOT Director Carl Schoedel said.

The Longmeadow Parkway Fox River Bridge Corridor is a planned tree lined Parkway and Fox River Bridge crossing with a landscaped median, approximately 5.6 miles in length, running from Huntley Road to IL Route 62. The proposed road passes through portions of the villages of Algonquin, Carpentersville and Barrington Hills, as well as unincorporated areas of Kane County.

KDOT officials say the parkway will provide a valuable benefit to the public by relieving congestion, encouraging economic development, improving travel options and connecting towns and neighborhoods.

Additional information is available at our Longmeadow Parkway Bridge Corridor website.
