It was a day that would live in infamy forevermore — Dec. 7, 1941.

That morning Japanese warplanes appeared over the Hawaiian Islands to launch a surprise aerial bombardment of American air and naval installations.

The St. Charles Public Library is pleased to present “Pearl Harbor: A Day of Infamy” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, in the Carnegie Community Room. Using individual stories from the men who responded to the attack, battlefield expert and author Robert Mueller presents the tactics and the consequences of the most treacherous assault ever launched upon American soil.

Mueller performed his military service in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during the Vietnam era. He has received four national book awards including a Bronze Medal from the Military Writers Society of America. He holds advanced degrees in physics from the University of Illinois and in business administration from Lake Forest College.
