A lottery on Thursday will determine the order of the ballot, but the Kane County Clerk’s Office website provides information on who the local candidates will be in the March primary.

The list of candidates as indicated on the website as of 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, shows 13 contested primary races, including a Republican contest for county clerk and Republican and Democratic nominations for sheriff. As of Tuesday, there are also multiple contested primary races for odd-numbered County Board seats.

A lottery for the candidate placement on the ballot in the March 20, 2018 General Primary Election will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7,at the Kane County Clerk’s Office (Bldg. B) Training Room, Kane County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Ave, Geneva, IL.

Of course, these are the local candidates. Local referendums will be on the March ballot, as well, and we’ll run a story on those at a later date.

The March primary also will include all of Illinois’ 18 seats in the United States House of Representatives, statewide races that include the race for governor as well as elections for the offices of the Illinois House of Representatives and Illinois State Senate.
