Red Gate Road Left Turn Lane Project Completed

Red Gate Road Left Turn Lane Project Completed

Good news for the holiday season.

“We are pleased to announce the Red Gate Road Left Turn Lane Roadway Improvement project has been completed!” the Kane County Division of Transportation said in a Wednesday news release. “The county appreciates your cooperation and patience that help make this project a success!”

Construction started the week of Oct. 9, on Red Gate Road between Randall Road and Longview Drive in the city of St. Charles, in order to safely and efficiently widen the road. Red Gate Road will remained open during the work, but required temporary intermittent daily lane closures throughout the duration of the project, that reduced Red Gate Road down to one lane.

The improvements will include:

  • Hot mix asphalt resurfacing and widening to construct a left-turn lane.
  • Culvert improvement.
  • Pavement marking.
  • Tree removal and landscape restoration.
