The Kane County Clerk’s Office last month announced the results of a lottery to determine ballot placement of the simultaneously-filing Republican and Democratic candidates running for local county and precinct-level offices on the March 20 (2018) general primary election.

According to state law, candidates are considered to have filed simultaneously if they were standing in line to file nominating paperwork at the Kane County Clerk’s Office prior to 8:30 a.m. on the first day of the filing period, or if they filed paperwork in the last hour of the last day of the filing period.

Democratic Party Candidates

This is the ballot order resulting from the lottery for Democratic Party candidates:

• County Board District 1: Myrna Molina, Blanca E. Rodriguez.
• County Board District 3: Anita Marie Lewis, Donald Ishmael.
• County Board District 7: Brian Gravenhorst, Monica Silva.
• County Board District 17: Janice Bennett, Deborah Allan.
• County Board District 19: Thomas Gibbons, John (Jack) Shales. Mohammad “Mo” Iqbal is also on the ballot but was not involved in the lottery.

Republican Party Candidates

This is the ballot order resulting from the lottery for Republican Party candidates:

• Sheriff: Donald E. Kramer, Kevin Tindall.
• County Board District 9: Tom Koppie, Connie Von Keudell.
• County Board District 13: Steve Weber, Philip Lewis.
• County Board District 15: Robert Alan Koonce, Barbara Wojnicki. Austin P. Lawler is also on the ballot but was not involved in the lottery.

Voters in the March general primary election will determine the Democratic and Republican nominees for offices to be elected in the Nov. 6, 2018, general election.
