Fatal Hit-And-Run Update: Police Release New Images Of Minivan
The Aurora Police Department has released new photos of the minivan thought to be involved in a deadly hit and run last week on IL Route 25.
“We are releasing new still photographs from a different security camera we located as our investigation into the Jan. 24 fatal crash that took the life of 46-year-old Danny Anderson continues,” Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli said today (Monday, Jan. 29, 2018) on Facebook. “The stills depict the minivan that fatally struck Danny before the 6:40 p.m. crash at Broadway (IL Route 25) and Hazel Avenue.
“We are also imploring the driver of the vehicle, or anyone who knows his or her identity, to do the right thing and come forward.”
“If you witnessed the crash or have any information, please call the Aurora Police Traffic Division at 630-256-5330 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000.”

According to the Aurora Police Department’s Facebook page, Anderson, who was identified as homeless, was crossing Broadway Avenue with another 32-year-old Aurora man.
As they started crossing westbound, the 32-year-old saw an older gray minivan traveling south on Broadway. The 32-year-old man stopped in the middle of the crosswalk and hollered to the 46-year-old man to stop, but the victim ran west in front of the minivan and was struck. The driver of the minivan stopped for a few seconds but then fled south.
Anderson was taken by Aurora Fire Department paramedics to an Aurora hospital. He was then airlifted to a suburban hospital and was pronounced dead at 1:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25.
There is no further description of the minivan nor its occupants.
“The only photos of the vehicle we have so far are of poor quality and were taken from an area surveillance camera,” Aurora Public Information Officer Dan Ferrelli said in the original Facebook post. ”
