Feb. 9 Deadline: Nominate Local-Government Peers For NextGen Public Service Awards!
You and I know that local units of government at every level in Kane County — park districts, library districts, school districts, villages and cities, townships, you name it — have silent-hero employees who are doing outstanding work.
You’re seeing examples of innovation, hard work, above-and-beyond-the-call-of-duty levels of public service, new initiatives and technology upgrades. Now’s your chance to celebrate top-notch service with national recognition.
GovLoop founder Steve Ressler is putting out an all-points bulletin for local-government employees to nominate peers for the NextGen Public Service Awards. The awards recognize deserving individuals selected from the public service community for their intelligence, exuberance and dedication to improving and invigorating government.
“From Maine to Alaska, there are state and local govies across the country who have dedicated their lives to serving their communities. However, their stories of hard work, innovation and persistence can go unnoticed and unappreciated,” Ressler said. “We think these stories deserve more acknowledgment, which is why we host the NextGen Public Service Awards every year.”
The deadline for nominations is coming fast. Nominations can be submitted online through Feb. 9, 2018.
Finalists are announced the week of March 20, and the category winners are announced at the Next Generation of Government Training Summit on Aug. 9-10 in Washington, DC.
Have anyone in mind that is a picture of outstanding public service? Then take a few moments to nominate them for a NextGen Public Service Award.
