As anyone who has ever owned a cat knows, there are as many personalities of felines as there are breeds of cats.

There are shy cats, happy purring cats, cats that hide, outgoing cats that could work in public relations, always sleeping cats, nosy cats, spiritual-ethereal cats, water cats, lazy cats, search-and-find cats and, of course, there’s the talky cat.

Meet Omelette, a 1-year-old female, brown and black tabby domestic shorthair. This little chatterbox came to Kane County Animal Control as a pregnant mom-to-be and gave birth to five kittens fairly shortly thereafter. Her litter of kittens were all named after breakfast foods.

Once her little ones were weaned and began finding new homes, Omelette’s gossip queen side emerged. Who would have thought this little demure kitten would have so much to say? Perhaps she’s giving the full details of her life prior to becoming a mom, or perhaps she’s explaining how much she enjoys getting lots and lots of cuddle time.

Whatever the talk is all about, Omelette’s size is surely misleading because she can fill an entire room with her very large personality. She’s looking for a family who will listen to her as well as give her the love and stability she yearns for. Are you her new sounding board?

Ronnie

Congratulations to Ronnie, our slightly chubby Chihuahua who has been on KCAC’s weight-loss plan while looking for his forever family.

We are so happy to report that Ronnie’s new family took him home last week and he is continuing to prosper and succeed. We’re so happy for you, Ronnie!

How to Adopt

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.

The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control

It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:

• Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.
• Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
• Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
• Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
