UPDATE: Fox River Flooding Continues To Be a Concern
The National Weather Service Chicago says the danger isn’t over for flooding at the Fox River at the Algonquin Tailwater and at Montgomery.
Aurora accumlated 2.54 inches of rain over the three-day period.
As of Wednesday, Flood Warning for urban areas and small streams remains in effect for Kane, Kendall, DuPage, Cook, southern McHenry, Lake and many others throughout Northern Illinois.
“The combination of this rainfall, frozen ground and some snow melt will likely result in flooding,” the NWS Chicago said. “If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an alternate route.”
Driving conditions are hazardous at locations throughout the area.
“Periods of rain and a few thunderstorms will continue across the area today into tonight, with locally heavy rainfall expected to lead to flooding in some areas,” NWS officials said. “A cold front will move across the area tonight, and there may be a period of freezing rain and sleet overnight as the cold air spreads before precipitation ends.
“This could lead to some glazing especially on elevated surfaces and thinner pavement such as sidewalks and parking lots by early Wednesday morning.”

Algonquin Tailwater UPDATE
The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a Flood Warning for The Fox River at Algonquin Tailwater.
At 5 p.m. Wednesday, the stage was 9.07 feet. Flood stage is 9.5 feet, and minor flooding is forecast.
As the graphic above indicates, the water level is expected to rise, with the possibility of staying above the Minor Flood stage through Feb. 28.

Montgomery UPDATE
The Flood Warning continues for The Fox River at Montgomery from this morning to Saturday afternoon.
At 4 p.m. Tuesday, the stage was 13.74 feet. Flood stage is 13.0 feet. Minor lowland flooding is occurring and is forecast.
As the graphic above indicates, water rose above Minor Flood Level on Monday.
