Guinness World Record Holder Reveals Why ‘Age Is Nothing But a Number’ March 24 in Aurora

You’ll have a chance to learn secrets about longevity from a Guinness World  Record holder, get a free health screening and pick up all kinds of free stuff March 24 at the 13th Annual Community Health Fair in Aurora.

Sponsored by the Aurora African- American Health Coalition, the free event takes place from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 24, at Aurora Christian School, 2255 Sullivan Road.

Ernestine Shepherd

The keynote speaker is Ernestine Shepherd, the Guinness World Record holder as the Oldest Female Body Builder. Her talk, titled “Age is Nothing But a Number,” will be from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Some of the features of this year’s fair include:

  • Free comprehensive health screenings (8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)
  • Teen and children’s health fair
  • Exhibits/Vendors (8 a.m. to noon)
  • Raffles, prizes, giveaways

In addition to the 36 tests included in the package, men requesting a Prostate Specific Antigen who are at least age 45 or have a hereditary prostate cancer risk will receive the test at no cost. Breakfast will be served to those participants who receive screening. Please enter through Door #11.

Screenings are from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Some screenings require eight-hours fasting: no food or drink (except water) for eight hours before screening. Please drink one or two glasses of water one or two hours before your screening. Do take any prescribed medications if it is safe to do so without food.
