NWS ALERT: Snow Squalls Coming This Afternoon (Tuesday, March 6)

We didn’t get 4 inches of snow overnight, but we did get more than an inch, and there’s more where that came from.

The National Weather Service Chicago says to expect “snow squalls” today, bursts of snow with accumulation mainly on grassy surfaces. Visibility could be as little as a mile at times, and travel could be dangerous.

Additional snow showers are likely this afternoon and evening. Some quick accumulations are possible in the heavier showers, but generally minor accumulations of less than a half inch are expected.

The Winter Weather Advisory for Kane County and the surrounding area ended at midnight Monday.
