Police: Traffic Stop Yields $20K in Cannabis Contraband
A couple of Aurora Police Department special operations investigators took almost $20,000 in cannabis off the streets last week after stopping a car for a traffic violation at Plum and Commonwealth.

Aaron J. Soloff, 23, of the 600 block of Westgate, Aurora, was charged through the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office with manufacture or delivery of cannabis and unlawful possession of cannabis, both of which are felonies.
Soloff was a passenger in a car driven by a 28 year old Yorkville man who rolled a stop sign at Elmwood and Plum around 10:05 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20.
When the Investigators stopped the vehicle, Soloff made suspicious movements that led the officers to believe he may have been attempting to conceal or destroy evidence, so they ordered him out of the car.
The 977.59 grams (about 2 pounds) of marijuana was found in plain view in vacuum sealed bags in the back seat of the vehicle. Also seized were several cartridges of cannabis oil. The contraband has a street value of $19,540.
The driver of the vehicle was released after being issued a traffic citation.
The charges against Soloff are not proof of guilt. He is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which it is the burden of the state to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
