The first time you meet Chance, KCAC’s 1-year-old brown and white Pit-bull terrier, you notice his furrowed brow and brown eyes that literally plead with you to pet him, to be nice to him, to love him.

It’s almost too much to fathom as to why or how this sweet, friendly guy wound up on the street alone to fend for himself. It must have been hard on him when people passed him by because he craves attention and loves to be petted from everyone he meets.

Chance is all puppy, stuffed in a gangly big-boy body. Since he’s such a big youngster, he will need consistent training to keep his attention focused on the positive ways to play. He will also need a family that is willing to give him a daily supply of exercise to keep him happy and fit.

Chance is friendly with other dogs but could use some socialization to help him learn his limits and to not overwhelm his new playmates.

All Chance needs is a chance to find his forever family and to know that making him a part of the family is the best decision anyone could ever make.

Annie, Eddie and Worley

Congratulations to Annie, Eddie and Worley, the three abandoned Chihuahua puppies that found their forever homes last week. We’re sure they’re enjoying their new abodes and training their family members to cater to their every whim. They may be small, but they are mighty!

Rambo

Congratulations to sweet Rambo, a 2-year-old Australian Cattle dog with the temperament of an angel. We know you will spend your days exploring your new world and living the grand life!

Lindy, the little 2-year-old terrier-mix that arrived with the three Chihuahuas also found her perfect new home. All of them were found in a box abandoned in a parking lot, but look at them now! We guess it’s true that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!

How to Adopt

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.

The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25. Luna’s adoption fee, as mentioned above, is $20.

About Kane County Animal Control

It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:

• Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.
• Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
• Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
• Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
