The St. Charles Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in the Feb. 26 armed robbery of a liquor store.

According to a city of St. Charles news release, St. Charles officers responded at around 10:02 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, to One Stop Liquors, 1401 Prairie St., for a report of an armed robbery.

The employee reported the offender, who was wearing a mask, entered the northwest door, displayed a black handgun and demanded cash. The offender was able to steal an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

Officials said the man fled west into the parking lot, where he entered a waiting car that exited onto Prairie Street. Officers checked the area for the offender and vehicle, but neither was located.

Police say the newly released security photos and physical identification information about the suspect could provide vital clues in the robbery.

The photos, taken via a security camera, show images of the suspect from two angles. There are also two images of what police believe was the offender’s vehicle.

Information about the offender’s unusual walk has been added to the previously released description:

  • Male, 5 feet, 9 inches, thin build
  • Dark jacket, black mask, gray pants
  • Bowlegged with an unusual gait (new)

The offender’s vehicle description:

  • Dark-colored four-door passenger car

The St. Charles Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact the Investigations Section at 630-377-4435.
