Coroner ID’s Elgin Woman Killed in April 12 Crash

The Kane County Coroner’s Office has identified the 47-year-old woman killed Thursday, April 12, in a crash on McDonald Road as Kelly Pynakker of Elgin.

According to the Elgin Police Department, police and fire personnel responded at around 6:39 p.m. April 12 to a report of a single-vehicle crash in the area of McDonald and Corron roads.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle was traveling west on McDonald Road when the driver lost control and struck a utility pole.

Pynakker, the sole occupant, was transported to Presence St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased from injuries sustained in the crash.

An autopsy was performed on April 13, and the preliminary cause of death is multiple injuries, according to a Coroner’s Office news release.

Toxicology samples were drawn and sent to a forensic laboratory for analysis.
