Elburn Will Test New Warning Sirens Monday, April 23
On Monday April 23, 2018, the village of Elburn will be upgrading to an automated control system for our weather warning sirens.
“As part of this process it will be necessary to activate those sirens at least once after the new control system is in place to verify proper operation,” Elburn Police Chief Nick Sikora said. “We want to inform the community that this is just part of the testing for the new control system that will be installed.”
Officials said they do not know at what time the test or tests will be completed. However, citizens likely won’t have to be concerned that the sires are indicating an actual weather event.
“We do not have any threatening weather in the forecast at this time, so we do not anticipate any weather conflicts with this test,” Sikora said.
