Emergency Lane Closure Friday Night (April 27) For Randall Road in Elgin

The city of Elgin will close the northbound lane of Randall Road on Friday night to replace a fire hydrant and repair a service main.

According to a news release from the Kane County Division of Transportation, the lane closure will take place starting at around 10 p.m. Friday (April 27, 2018) along northbound Randall Road from Highland Avenue to Royal Boulevard in the city of Elgin.

Randall Road will remain open during the repairs, but will be reduced to one lane for this work.

Motorists should expect delays while traveling through the work zone and may want to add additional time to their commutes.

Drivers must reduce their speed, watch for workers and vehicles entering or leaving the site, and obey flaggers and
other traffic control devices within the work zone. Motorist should expect delays while traveling through the work area
and may want to consider the use of alternate routes while this work is completed.

A reminder: It is illegal for drivers to talk on a cell phone while driving through a highway construction work zone.
