The annual Kane County Recessed Reflective Pavement Markers Program work will begin the week of April 30, 2018, weather permitting.

The work shall include installation of recessed reflective pavement markers on 12 miles of county highways as indicated on the attached map. This pavement marker project will improve the visibility of the lane markings for the motoring public. The work is anticipated to be completed by the end of May.

Affect roads include Fabyan Parkway in Geneva, Big Timber Road in northern Kane County and sections of Randall Road in the areas of Mooseheart, St. Charles and Elgin, according to a KDOT map. (See above.)

Temporary daily lane closures will be required from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to allow time to safely accomplish this work.

KDOT asks drivers to watch for workers, equipment on the roadway and shoulders, anticipate increased travel times and exercise caution while traveling in freshly painted areas.

Motorist should be prepared to reduce their speed, exercise caution, and be extra alert while traveling through construction zone and may want to add additional time to their commutes or consider the use of alternate routes while this work is being completed.

A reminder: It is illegal for drivers to talk on a cell phone while driving through a highway construction work zone.
