What’s it spell?

Why, Sid, of course!

And who is Sid? Just one of the most regal, black, domestic longhair male cats you’re ever going to meet. Brought to KCAC as a stray, he’s more than just a cat, as you will find out after spending only a little bit of time with him.

Stately attitude aside, Sid has a wonderful personality that he is willing to show off the minute you enter the room. No hiding from stranger-danger for him. He runs to greet you, flops down on the floor and expectantly waits for the petting session he yearns for.

He interacts well with other cats. In fact, he is perfectly willing to ignore them if he is able to spend more of his time on your lap getting all the attention he knows he deserves.

Sid is also a talky little man, willing to hold a conversation with his new forever family, as long as his demands for cuddle time are met.

Give a cheer for Sid! Let’s go! Let’s go! Let’s go home, Sid!

How to Adopt

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.

The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25. Luna’s adoption fee, as mentioned above, is $20.

About Kane County Animal Control

It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:

• Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.
• Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
• Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
• Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
