4 Kane County Schools Make U.S. News ‘Best’ List

Four Kane County high schools are among the best in Illinois, according to U.S. News’ 2018 rankings.

badgeSt. Charles North once again won honors as the top-ranked high school in Kane County, ranked No. 18 in the state of Illinois and 782nd nationally. STC North moved up four slots this year, from 22nd in the state in 2017.

Kane County’s other top-ranked high schools in the state are:

  • St. Charles East, which catapulted up the list this year to No. 23 in Illinois. STC East was unranked a year ago.
  • Geneva Community High School, which is also up. GHS ranks 44th this year after ranking 65th in 2017.
  • Hinckley Big-Rock, which rounds out Kane County’s top-ranked high schools, finishing at No. 61 this year. HBR was ranked 48th in the state last year.

Batavia High School and Dundee-Crown High School, which were among the top 100 a year ago, are unranked this year.

Overview
