Bridge Repair on Silver Glen Road Starts May 23
Bridge repair work on Silver Glen Road Bridge over Otter Creek, located less than a mile west of Randall Road is scheduled to begin on May 23, 2018.
The anticipated duration for the bridge repair work is three weeks. Work will consist of the installation of steel support beams, which is intended to extend the life of the existing bridge structure.
All bicyclists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the use of the area during construction for the safety of workers and residents.
During the working hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, the contractor will be using both roadway shoulders along the bridge to temporarily store vehicles and equipment.
Silver Glen Road may also be temporarily reduced to one lane of travel, in each direction during the working hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The pedestrian walkway may also be closed during this time.
Motorists are to be cautious and be alert for equipment within the roadway shoulder areas and the workers walking within these areas. Please obey all traffic control devices, and watch for trucks and equipment leaving and entering the construction site. Motorists should reduce their speed, exercise caution, and be extra alert.
