Bridge Replacement Closes West County Line Road Near Maple Park

The Kane County Division of Transportation has closed West County Line Road to traffic between Beith Road and Winters Road near the village of Maple Park in order to safely and efficiently replace the existing bridge.

The project began today (Monday, May 7, 2018) and is anticipated to be complete by the end of August.

The improvements will include:

  • Removal and replacement the existing bridge structure and constructing new wing walls.
  • Earth excavation and embankment grading.
  • Constructing new bituminous shoulders and pavement.
  • Restoration and landscaping.

All bicyclists and pedestrians are advised to avoid using the area during construction for the safety of both the workers and the residents.

A posted detour route will direct traffic around the closure using Thatcher Road, Beith Road, Meredith Road, and IL Route 64.

The public is advised to safely adhere to the speed limit while following the posted detour route around the project and to expect increased travel times.

Questions and concerns may be directed to Ken Mielke (630) 406-7172.
