Flood Warning in Place For Fox River at Algonquin, Montgomery

The National Weather Service Chicago has issued a Flood Warning for the Fox River at the Algonquin Tailwater and at Montgomery.

Multiple rounds of rainfall on Sunday into today (Monday, May 21, 2018) will continue to cause the river to rise.

If you encounter a flooded roadway, officials ask that you turn around and find an alternate route.

Algonquin Tailwater

The Flood Warning continues for the Fox River at Algonquin Tailwater affecting Kane and McHenry counties.

The Flood Warning is in place until Friday, May 25.

At 11:30 a.m. Monday (May 21), the stage was 9.7 feet. Flood stage is 9.5 feet.

The river will continue rising to near 10.1 feet by Tuesday morning. The river is expected to fall below flood stage early Friday morning.

Fox River at Montgomery

The NWS has issued a Flood Warning for the Fox River at Montgomery, affecting Kane and Kendall counties.

The Flood Warning is in place until Friday evening.

At 10:45 a.m. today (Monday), the stage was 13.5 feet. Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

The river will continue rising to near 13.7 feet by this evening.
