The oil portraits of the Lords, created by longtime Elgin resident Earl Burnidge, will be unveiled in their new location at the Lords Park Pavilion and a program with light refreshments will begin at 2 p.m.

Jerry Turnquest will be presenting the “History of Lords Park” and Linda Rock will be socially mixing, portraying Mary Carpenter Lord. The Lords Park Pavilion is located at 100 Oakwood Boulevard in Elgin.

The Lords were Elgin’s most philanthropic couple and did much more than donate the land for Lords Park. At this event, you’ll learn the many ways they contributed to Elgin and the unique animal history of Elgin’s first large park.
