Kane County Bar Association Presents ‘Courthouse of Cards’ May 11-12
The Kane County Bar Association will present a Bar Show titled “COURTHOUSE OF CARDS” May 11 and May 12 at the Copley Theater, 8 E. Galena Boulevard, Aurora.
The show is a musical comedy parody of current events written, directed by and starring KCBA members.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and the cocktail reception preceding the show starts at 6:15 p.m. There will be food at the cocktail reception, which is included in the ticket price. Bring a few dollars to buy the drinks, since it is a cash bar.
Tickets, which include the cocktail reception with a cash bar, are $55 for Friday night and $60 for Saturday night and are available through the Paramount’s Copley Theater Box Office at 630-896-6666.
“We do the Bar Shows as a fun way to promote collegiality among the bar and to cultivate social and professional interrelationships among bar members,” producer Dorothy A. Voigt said.
Patrons are warned that there may be no actual references to House of Cards.
“No political statements are being made about anything in the show. It is all intended to be fun,” Voigt said. “You do not need to be a lawyer to understand the show.
“So if you think the idea of lawyers singing, dancing or acting is a bit like a dog riding a bicycle, come and see the novelty.”
