Kane County Farmers Markets Open For 2018 Season!
It’s that time of year again, and while it might’ve been colder than the temperature should be during spring, farmers markets around Kane County are getting ready to provide local, quality produce and other goods to their community.
Farmers markets are a great source of locally grown products, shipped directly from local farms around Kane County and never frozen, ensuring fresh delivery from farm to table.
Not only do local farmers markets support the local economy by providing locally grown produce, animal products, and other items, but many markets in the county and nationally, are encouraging residents to develop healthy eating habits by accepting federal programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or Women, Infants, and Children.
If you are interested in building a community and supporting local farms, below is the schedule for eight of the county’s markets.
St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia and Sugar Grove also provide indoor farmers’ markets during the cold winter months beginning in October or November.
