Man Airlifted After Trapped Under Car at Batavia Walmart
Batavia officials said a man had to be airlifted to an area hospital Saturday after being trapped under a vehicle at a Walmart service station in Batavia.
According to a Batavia Fire Department news release, units from the Batavia Fire Department responded at around 12:37 p.m. Saturday (May 19, 2018) to the Walmart auto service center at 801 North Randall Road for a report of a person trapped under a car.
First arriving fire unit discovered that a man had been struck by a car that moved forward off of a service lift, but the person was no longer pinned by vehicle upon the arrival of rescue units.
The man was evaluated by paramedics and given advanced life support treatment on scene.
Due to nature of injuries and patient condition, command was advised to call for helicopter transport to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital Level One Trauma Center.
The scene was cleared by 1:31 p.m. Saturday, reports said.
