UPDATE: Water Main Fixed, Boil Order Over For West Dundee Residents
Water is back and a boil order ended Saturday for other residents of the Grand Pointe subdivision in West Dundee.
According to a West Dundee news release, two broken water mains were repaired by approximately 9:30 p.m. Thursday. Immediately afterward, the pressure reducing valves were adjusted to restore full pressure back to the Grand Pointe subdivision. That operation was completed at around 10:45 p.m.
Officials said water is safe to use for any Grand Pointe residents who did not receive a boil order notice from the village.
“Although the village does not expect any contamination to have occurred, the boil order is done in accordance with state law as a precaution,” officials said.
The boil order was lifted at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018.
The map embedded above indicates the general areas that were affected. Officials say a small number of addresses included in the red highlighted area were not ultimately impacted by the boil order.

Water to the subdivision had been shut off at 3 p.m. Thursday for the emergency repair work to the water main, which is the primary supply to the Grand Pointe subdivision serviced by the Randall Road Water Tower.
