Flags at Half Staff This Weekend Honor Chicago Firefighter

United States and state of Illinois flags will fly at half-staff from sunrise, Saturday, June 2, 2018, until sunset, Monday, June 4, 2018, in honor of Chicago Firefighter Juan Bucio, who died Monday while trying to rescue a missing boater in the Chicago River.

The state Department of Central Management Services has received notice from Gov. Bruce Rauner that all persons or entities covered by the Illinois Flag Display Act.

According to The Beverly Review, Bucio’s body was transported to Blake Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St. The procession of fire and police vehicles traveled through the neighborhood west on 103rd Street.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 3, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., at St. Rita High School chapel, 7740 S. Western Ave. The funeral will be at noon Monday, June 4, at St. Rita. Full Honors Burial to follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, 4101 S. Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL.
