Geneva Commuter Parking Deck To Close at Night June 18-22

The city of Geneva’s Third Street Commuter Parking Deck will be closed overnight from Monday, June 18, through Friday, June 22, for cleaning and general maintenance work.

The parking facility will be shut down each night from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. The deck will reopen each morning for commuters, downtown shoppers and visitors to Geneva’s Swedish Days festival, which will run Tuesday, June 19, to Sunday, June 24.

Where Can I Park When I Take The Train Into Chicago?

Parking is limited around the Geneva train station. Daily parking lots cost $2 per day in the parking deck (now 540 spaces with the third-tier expansion) and $1.75 per day in the overflow lot off of Route 31. Daily parking on normal workdays in the garage fills up by 7 a.m.

There are three city-owned permit lots for regular commuters, which are identified in gray on the commuter parking map. The cost for a three-month permit is $100 for Geneva residents and $125 for non-residents.

Presently there is a one-year waiting list for these permits. You can find a parking permit registration form online or pick one up at the Geneva Police Department, 20 Police Plaza.

The completed form must be returned to the Police Department by mail or in person.

There is free parking on the old Seigle property bordered by South, Fourth, Crescent and Third streets in the downtown. However, there is no parking allowed between 2 and 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Parking is free in the parking deck during the following periods:

  • 4 to 11:59 p.m. Monday through Friday; and
  • 12 a.m. on Saturday to 11:59 p.m. on Sundays (No overnight parking is permitted.)
