Geneva’s Kirk Road Street Light Repairs Will Impact Kirkwood, Arbours Subdivisions
The Geneva Public Works Department will be working on a Kirk Road street light repair project in June that will impact the traffic entrance to the Kirkwood and Averill Arbours subdivisions.
The project is being done to restore power to the lights along Kirk Road from Averill Circle south to State Street (IL Route 38).
From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, June 21, crews will be saw-cutting pavement on Averill. Access will be restricted to one lane, and Public Works Department personnel will help guide traffic in and out of the west leg of Averill Circle at Kirk Road.
Traffic on Kirk Road is not expected to be impacted.
The pavement cutting is being done in preparation for excavation and repair work scheduled next week, likely Tuesday, June 26.
The pavement will be safe to drive on in between the cutting and repair work. A lane closure will again be needed for the repair project next week during the same working hours.
Once the repair has been completed, the area will be filled with gravel and patched at a later date. The schedule above may be subject to change based on weather or other electric-related calls coming into the city.
