Monarchs and Milkweed Summer Festival June 23 at LeRoy Oakes
Got milkweed? Celebrate and learn about native pollinators and plants from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Forest Preserve District of Kane County’s family-friendly event, “Monarchs and Milkweed” at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve.
At this festival, you’ll get free milkweed plants, guided hikes in the prairie, crafts, butterfly house kits, live music, food trucks, a photo board and more!
Exhibiting organizations include: Kane-DuPage Soil and Water Conservation District, Northern Kane County Wild Ones, Pheasants Forever and The Conservation Foundation. Food trucks scheduled include: Bernie’s Bully Dogs, Cupcakes for Courage and Grumpy Gaucho. Live music will be provided by Bluegrass band, Ruby Slippers.
Admission is free. There is a nominal fee for crafts.
LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve is located at 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles.
