
Motorcyclist, Car Passenger Critically Injured in Unrelated Overnight Crashes in Elgin

Two serious crashes occurred in Elgin in the overnight hours between Monday and Tuesday.

According to a post on the Elgin Police Department Facebook page, the first crash occurred at 10:37 p.m. Monday, June 25, at West Highland Avenue and Stonehaven Drive.
A single motorcycle was traveling east on Highland Avenue and as it approached Stonehaven Drive, crossed lanes and went down into an embankment.
The 33-year-old male driver from Elgin was initially transported to Presence St. Joseph Hospital. He was then flown to Lutheran General and is in critical condition.

The second crash occurred on at 3:58 a.m. Tuesday, June 26 — a single-vehicle rollover crash in which a tree was struck in the 300 block of North McLean Boulevard.
Both the driver and passenger were transported to Presence St. Joseph Hospital.
The driver, a 24-year-old male from Alsip, was treated for non-life threatening injuries. His passenger, a 24-year-old female from Elgin, was later transported to Lutheran General for critical injuries.
The Elgin Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate both crashes.
