Bill Nye Skypes STEM Scholars Graduation Ceremony July 9 at FONA

Bill Nye, CEO of The Planetary Society, will join the 14th District STEM Scholars graduation ceremony via SKYPE at 6 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2018. The ceremony will also feature Fermilab Director Nigel Lockyer and Lt. Gov. Evelyn Sanguinetti.

“This year’s class of STEM Scholars was excited and engaged at all of our meetings — from a coroner’s office to a community college, and everything in between. The sky’s the limit for these young leaders, and I cannot wait to see what they will accomplish in science, medicine, education, business and more,” said 14th District Rep. Randy Hultgren. “This year’s graduates are in for a real treat, with remarks from Lt. Gov. Sanguinetti, who joined graduates last year, Director Lockyer and Bill Nye, whose television program inspired many in their generation to get excited about STEM.”

Motivated Kane Students Can Apply NOW For #STEMScholars Program

The STEM Scholars program is a 14th Congressional District youth leadership program encouraging highly-motivated and energetic high school students to become ambassadors in their communities for the possibilities provided by science, technology, engineering and mathematics (#STEMScholars).

Each month of the school year, students have STEM site within the 14th District and learned about careers in STEM, engaged with industry professionals and educators and participated in hands-on STEM experiences.
