Designated Parking Areas Set For Algonquin Founders’ Days July 26-29

The Algonquin Founders’ Days festival will begin on the afternoon of Thursday, July 26, 2018 and end with the fireworks display on the night of Sunday, July 29, 2018.

The events associated with this festival will take place at various locations throughout the village, with the Social Garden, Carnival and Taste of Founders being held at Spella Park, 2610 Harnish Drive.
Special parking restrictions in the area of Spella Park have been imposed and will be enforced. These include “No Parking” areas located on Harnish Drive, Eineke Boulevard, Eineke Court, Wintergreen Terrace, and Woods Creek Lane.
Designated parking for the festival, with shuttle bus service to Spella Park, will be available at the following locations:
- Community Unit School District 300 Administration Building, 2550 Harnish Drive
- Target, 750 S. Randall Road
- JC Penney, 800 S. Randall Road
- St. Margaret Mary Church, 111 S. Hubbard St.

About Founders’ Days
The Founders’ Days Festival began in 1961 with a group of local businessmen who wanted to celebrate their community. Fifty-seven years later, that tradition continues.
Every year, a group of dedicated volunteers work to bring families, friends and neighbors together to enjoy a family-friendly four day event, with something for everyone including: Bicycle Decorating Contest, BBQ Cook-Off, Kids Korner, Outdoor Business Expo, Family Olympics, great music, one of the longest standing parades in the state, Trivia Night and the Fireworks Spectacular over the Fox River.
As the years have changed, so has the festival, the festival continues to be self-sustaining, without assistance from tax dollars. Every dollar raised brings the festival to life.
Everything you see and experience through the festival is provided to the community by local businesses and individuals that recognize the value of our community.
The Founders’ meetings are held the last Monday of the month, except August & December.
