IDOT Resurfacing IL Route 59 From Batavia Road to Ferry Road
Heads up if you regularly exit I-88 to go north on IL Route 59 to Batavia, Geneva or St. Charles.
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that daytime lane closures will begin this week on IL Route 59 between Batavia Road and Ferry Road in Warrenville. The lane closures are necessary for a resurfacing project and sidewalk improvements.
To complete the work, daily lane closures will take place at various locations along Illinois 59 from Batavia Road to Ferry Road.
The scope of the project consists of resurfacing and pavement patching, as well as pedestrian ramp improvements that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The overall project is expected to be completed in the fall.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
